#ThrowbackThursday

With baseball season coming up + the weather being cold again, I wanted to share something I wrote when I had the chance to go to Spring Training for the first time. I had forgotten I wrote this until recently when someone I know told me that it is on the website for the George Washington Sports Business Association, which is a student organization I was a part of during graduate school. Rereading it definitely brought back some warm and sunny memories 🙂

Craving Lobster Rolls

Who doesn’t love food? Cause I sure love it! I love trying new restaurants and I’m one of those if I crave it, I either go eat it or make it.

One food I have been craving in particular is at one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. I know there are places here in DC/Maryland that sells the food I am craving, but I’ve been thinking of this one restaurant.  This is the one restaurant I always go whenever someone visited me in Boston or if someone tells me they are visiting Boston, I always recommend this place

The place is called Neptune Oyster. It is located in the North End area of Boston, near Government Center/Quincy Market. They are well known for their oyster bar and lobster roll. I will admit that it can be pricey since the lobster roll depends on market price, BUT it is WORTH IT!! 😁

The lobster roll can be served hot with butter/cold with mayo and you can choose salad/fries as your side. I usually tend to get it hot and with a side salad.

One thing to note is this place does not reservations. You need to go to the restaurant and put your name down on a waiting list. You provide your phone number so they can give you a call when it gets close to your turn. The average wait time can be 30 minutes to an hour. However, during tourist season and dinner times, the wait can be as long as 2-3 hours so my recommendation is before you start sightseeing around Quincy Market/Government, I would go and put your name down first.

So… for anyone who is in Boston and haven’t been here or if anyone is planning on going to Boston, I definitely recommend to check this place out! 👍🏻

*This is my personal opinion some may feel differently about this place

FAVORITE MAKEUP BRAND

*Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored by this company. This is all personal opinion based on usage. The link provided is the company’s link.

When I first started wearing makeup and became dedicated to taking care of my skin, I was living in Korea so obviously my favorite make up brand is Korean. The brand I use mostly for skin care is Innisfree.

To be honest, I have been using their skincare products as long as I can remember and have never really tried any other skincare products so I may be pretty biased. However, with sensitive and combination/oily skin, I have found that their products best work for me. It may look like a lot, but this is how I’ve been taking care of my skin.

Here’s a list of current products I am using now:

  • Skin care:
    • Soybean energy essence
    • Soybean energy eye serum
    • Youth enriched orchid eye cream
    • Youth enriched orchid cream (I use this in the winter for deeper moisture)
    • Green persimmon pore essence
    • Lava seawater line
      • toner
      • serum
      • emulsion
      • cream (I use it in the summer so my skin doesn’t feel too heavy)
    • Pore clearing volcanic cluster clay mousse mask
    • It’s Real Squeeze mask sheets (tried all 16 options & favorites are: cucumber, manuka honey, aloe, acai berry, blackberry, green tea, rice, shea butter)
  • Make up:
    • No sebum mineral powder
    • No sebum mineral pact

Missing Sunshine

With all the wind, snow and cold weather happening this past week, I cannot help, but wish for some sun and warm weather…☀️  I went to LA for a weekend back in September for my cousin’s wedding.

While there, I shot some video footage for my sister so she can create a short travel vlog for her YouTube channel. We only had 24 hours to do some actual sightseeing so we crammed in as much as we could in a day!

First Post EVER

Hi Everyone!

This is pretty nerve wrecking because I never thought I will ever blog, but I guess you NEVER SAY NEVER.

I opened this space to share thoughts and be an outlet where I can save memories and develop ideas for my career as well. I’m not a writer; I’m more of a talker, but I think writing is a way to express yourself and be creative.

A forewarning is being Korean-American, I find that my best language is Conglish (Korean + English) 😅 so there will be times when things will be written in English and Korean because I do feel it is important to always be connected with your ancestry and culture.

In this blog, I’ll mostly share what I’m passionate about. Sometimes posts may be simply a photo and a couple words, some can be longer.

To stop by and read is an open invitation! If you enjoy what you read, then I invite you to continue this journey along with me.

So here it goes…. Starting a new journey! ✈️

About ME

Who is Sangmi?

I am Korean-American.🇰🇷 🇺🇸 I was born in Taejeon, South Korea, but my family immigrated to the United States when I was three months old. From then, we lived in New York, Texas, and California. After elementary school in California, I moved to Seoul, South Korea where I lived through high school. I went to Boston for college and then moved to the DC/MD area for graduate school. Currently, I live in Silver Spring, MD and work in Washington, DC.

Personality wise, I’m a pretty outgoing person. I love meeting new people, going to new places, and trying new things. I’m always up to going out to eat and trying new food and checking out different cafes/restaurants. I also love to cook and try out new recipes. If I’m not going out to eat, then I like to relax and either read or watch TV or just meet and chat with friends. Other things I’m passionate about are photography  📷,  sports ⚽️  🏀  ⚾️ , and travel✈️.

Through this blog, I hope to share more about myself and share the things I am passionate about. So even though I may have briefly described myself, follow along and who knows? Maybe you’ll get to know me better. 😉
