Thanksgiving Travel: NYC

A later recap post of Thanksgiving travel to NYC. It’s definitely been a while being in the Big 🍎 during a holiday season. Due to COVID-19, it wasn’t as busy or crowded as I thought it would be or what was normal, but it was still busy as it can be.

Hola! MexicoπŸ‡²πŸ‡½ Mucho Gusto!

Sudden work trip to Mexico! I went to Puerto Vallarda and stayed at a resort there for a softballπŸ₯Ž tournament.

It was my first time to Mexico so the whole experience from landing at the airport, seeing the neighborhood, and realizing how little Spanish I knew was a cultural and learning experience.

The most memorable moment of it all was how close the resort I was staying at was close to the beach. Even though it was a work trip, I loved the factor of being close to the beach and enjoying the ocean view, the breeze, and was just so amazed in God’s creation.

Watching the sunset with an ocean background is a view I’ll never forget and I hope to be able to go back one day. Hasta lugeo πŸ‡²πŸ‡½!

Lunar New Year Celebration

If you are Asian, you usually celebrate two new years. The REACH at the Kennedy Center hosted a lunar new year celebration with a collaboration from the Korean Cultural Center in DC.

Outside was a beautiful light display with the zodiac signs, pandas, and mushrooms. Inside were traditional Korean activities and I was told there was also a Korean drum performance as well.

It’s times like these when I am grateful to live in DC as its the β™₯️ of culture.

Summer Vacation: Hawaii 🌴

Checked off βœ”οΈ city #2 off the bucket list this past June.

I had a chance to be in Hawaii and visit two islands: MAUI & OAHU while I was there.

The food, sights, travel was all AMAZING that all my family and I kept saying, we’re in a different country even though we were in the US. πŸ˜‚

I love the ocean so the fact I was surrounded by water everywhere I looked was unreal. 🌊

Signal of Spring in DC🌸

In DC, you know it’s finally spring when the cherry blossoms come in peak bloom around the Potomac River. With my sister in town for the weekend, we became tourists for the day and walked along the Tidal Basin and the monuments to enjoy a day in DC. The weather was sunny and warm that it was definitely the PERFECT spring day! 😊

Sightseeing in Korea: LINE Cafe

In July, I went to South Korea to visit my family and meet some friends. While I was there, I did some sightseeing to places I have never been before. One of the places I visited in Seoul is a place called Garosu-gil. This place is considered one of the trendiest places in Seoul, where there is a lot of upscale boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and cafes.

I met some friends here for lunch and the place we went for dessert is the LINE Store. If you haven’t heard of LINE, LINE is a communication app similar to What’s App. One of the things about LINE is it is known for its cute characters. The best way to describe the LINE Store in comparison with the U.S. is it reminded me of the Disney Store.

At the LINE Store, you see this huge bear greeting you at the entry. Once you enter, you’re surrounded by accessories, electronics, clothing, stuffed animals, etc. all in the LINE characters.

Downstairs, there is a cafe, which where my friends and I got something to drink. The cafe drinks have your normal coffee and tea drinks, but some of the drinks and dessert items, such as the cakes and macarons are named after the LINE characters.

The store has a photo zone area where I saw a lot of tourists taking photos and obviously there was a lot of tourists purchasing items as well. I would say some of the items are on the pricey side, but if you want to purchase a cute and memorable souvenir as gift or for your personal memory, then why not buy one? πŸ˜‰

Overall, I thought this place was pretty cute and is definitely a sightseeing worth because there isn’t anything like it in the U.S. Also if you’re going in the summer, it is a cool and air-conditioned place to be in and avoid the sun. β˜€οΈ
